Jonty Bayliss

I am Jonty Bayliss a Journalism student at Sheffield Hallam University.

I am originally from Reading, Berkshire before moving up to Nottingham in 2001.

I attended Nottingham Bluecoat School then went onto Study A-Levels at Bilborough College.

After college I went travelling through Thailand, Australia and Singapore.

I have always been a keen Basketball player and I have also began playing Dodgeball. I Set up the first Dodgeball club at Sheffield Hallam, The Hallam Hornets and I also represent England.

I write for the student magazine, Shulife and have also gained work experience at Ashbourne Radio.

Sports and Broadcast Journalism is a particular interest of mine. I hope to go into Radio Broadcasting.

Jessica Thorpe

I'm Jessica; I'm a second year journalism student at Sheffield Hallam University. I am from Chesterfield and decided to study at Sheffield Hallam as I wanted to stay close to home.

I would like to specialise in fashion journalism after completing my degree, I would love to work for a fashion magazine because this is a subject that I am passionate about, it's my love for fashion and writing that inspired me to become a journalist.

I am currently organising some work experience for the summer whilst off university at the Derbyshire Times, I am especially interested in feature writing and media journalism, so this will be a great opportunity for me to get some background experience.

Leanne Bolan

I'm Leanne Bolan, 20, and i'm studing Journalism at Sheffield Hallam University. My main interests are feature writing, music and fashion.

I decided to become a Journalist as I feel I am good at and enjoy writing. I enjoy feature writing the most as I prefer to write in an informal style. I also hope to travel and try adrenaline sports such as bungee jumping so that I could use my personal experience to write features.

The other main reason I decided on Journalism is because I am interested in broadcasting and have had some experince working on Barnsley Hospital Radio. I chose radio over television as it links in with my love of music better.

Becca Savva

I'm Becca, 20, I am a second year student at Sheffield Hallam University studying Journalism. I am originally from Leeds but I moved to Sheffield when my course began and really love the city.

I love fashion, music and popular culture so I would like to encorporate these into my journalism career in some way, although teaching is also a path I am considering following when I finish my degree.

I enjoy writing and the English language so I would like to focus more on print Journalism but I am keen to try every aspect of the subject.

I work part time in a shoe shop whilst im at University and whilst this doesnt directly correspond to my Journalism course, it has got me used to a work environment, earning my own money and is preparing me for life after University.
